Reporter Fergus Colville spoke to five people to find out their opinions of the commemorations to mark 200 years since the act of abolition was passed. Some say the anniversary is an important historic milestone which should be observed. Others argue that marking the bicentenary is wrong - Africans continued to be enslaved after the act was passed so nothing 'ended' on 25 March, 1807. What did our Bristol five think? |
